this end, we must overthrow our principal enemies, the Imperialists and Militarists who have conspired together to

oppress us and to keep us under their yoke. But how are the

militarists, the tame dogs of the Imperialists to be over- thrown? For this we must depend on our Northern Expedition.

When we succeed in our Northern Expedition, the Militarists

will be overthrown and when the militarists have been over-

thrown, the Imperialists will be deprived of their tools,

and China can then have an opportunity to enjoy freedom and equality.

Our Kuomintang in brief is exterminating in the

interests of the Revolution the Communist Party which is counter-revolutionary. They differ entirely from the

Imperialists, Militarists, local rascals, degenerate gentry, corrupt and avaricious officials and compradore class in their opposition against the Comminists. For all the latter

are reactionaries, and appose Communism with a view to their

own benefit and to the detriment of the National Revolution.

We must continue our activity to overthrow the Imperialists, Militarists, local rascals, degenerate gentry, corrupt and avaricious officials and all reactionaries. The Imperial- ists in Hong Kong and Shameen are much rejoiced at the drastic action taken by the Kuomintang against the Commun- ists, thinking that the Chinese National Revolution will

hereafter die out gradually and that they will be left in peace. The local rascals, degenerate gentry and corrupt and avaricious officials are also very glad thinking that they are going to regain their lost prestige. But are they not in fact labouring under a vain delusion? For their over- throw is a prior task to clearing away all the Communists who are obstacles in the way of our Revolution.
